IT'S OVER!!!!!!

I received my certificate and I also received a years worth of credit in Spanish. The exam was very hard but I finished what I remembered and I tried my best for the ones that I did not remember. I had an average score for someone that had not learned Spanish since the 3rd grade. The activity that I liked the best was climbing the volcano. It may have been scary but it was the best thing that I have ever done.

My home stay parents Jose and Lucky were the best and they tried to make us feel comfortable as posible(possible), which they did. Jose has been having back problems for a couple of days so I haven't seen him. He is the coolest guy you could meet in Guatemala the other day I heard him listening to Beyonce's song irreplaceable (wow Jose). He tried to make us feel at home with the little bit of American culture he knew, that is what made him so cool. He is also the funniest man walking in Guatemala.

Lucky, she was also a very caring mother for us. She called us her hijos (sons), Lucky is a very good cook to, the other day she made us Hamburgers with some nachos and a special cheese dip. Lucky tried to teach us words in Spanish and we also tried to communicate with her in Spanish also. There is one American that I know that she knows how to say......"CELTICS AHHHHHH"!!!

My time here was great, I had a wonderful family and had a great time. I am thinking about returning one day when I am an adult, but until then I just might stick to America for the meanwhile. I missed watching American television, my American family, my American friends and now I get to finally see them tomorrow. =)

4 days left!!!!

Tomorrow we are going to be tested by our maestro (teacher) to see if I was actually learning. If I pass the test that means I get a whole years worth of credit in learning Spanish, if I don't pass then I have wasted 2 weeks worth of learning Spanish. I feel that I am going to pass because I have been paying attention because even though I had to stuff our heads with a whole years worth of Spanish, I had fun while I was learning so I know that I have learned a lot.

Today was a regular day in school from 8:00 to 12:00. When I returned home from school I spent most of my time reading my book and listening to my music on the roof of the house. We had fruits for breakfast, Pork Chops and Macaroni for lunch, and for dinner we had tacos, corn and cucumbers.

Lucky (home stay mother) gave us at cuaderno (a journal) to write something for her and her husband Jose so that they may know what we thought of them during our two weeks with their familia. I know exactly what I am going to write to my madre and padre!!! =)

Ill be home Monday!!! YAY I can't wait to see my real familia so that I can tell them how much fun that I had.

IM BACK IN ANTIGUA PEOPLE!!!!

Being back in Antigua feels great because I am back with my homestay parents. They really know how to treat their guests. I really think that Jose and Lucrecia really enjoyed having Isreal, Tyquan, Mr. Levy and I as sons for 2weeks because I really enjoyed them being my mother and father. As the days are coming to an end I am learning that I will miss Guatemala but New Jersey is where I belong. I am thinking about coming back one day to visit them, the experince of being in Guatemala has been so great that it has caught my eye as a good place to live especially when you trade in American money for Quetzals.

Today i didn't feel good so I went back home to lay down to see if I would feel any better. After a couple of hours of sleep I did start to feel a little better. We spent the whole day in the house because the weather was not beautiful today. I finished reading my Monster book and I started reading the lost boy. Today was a pretty much a chill day.

1 week left until I am back home!!! :)

TIKAL HERE I AM!!!!

About 3 days ago, myself and some other MetEast Trailblazers decided that we wanted to explore an active volcano. we had to walk an hour and a half just to get to the top of the hill so that we could start climbing the volcano. When we reached the top our heads were in the clouds and it was like I was on top of the world and it felt great. As we started to walk up the volcano I didn´t feel good about what we were doing but I was curious to see what the volcano was going to have in store for us. 2 people were seriously injured but the rest got out safe.

Today was the tikal trip and that was also a very great experience. I mean it's not everyday you get to see great mayan ruins. we explored in tikal for just about 4 hours and I climbed 3 tall temples. These templpes were so high up in the sky that I could probably could see home from there (yeah right). Our tour guides name was Julio. We seen a lot of animals today such as toucans, spider monkeys, turkeys, and that is about it because all the viscious animals sleep during the day time.

Even though I am having so much fun, I still think about home everyday and I cannot wait to return to the U.S. You'll be hearing from me on tuesday but until then....

Hola Amigos!!!!!!!!

Ever since I stepped off the plane life has not been the same for me. I did not sleep right because it wuz hard adjusting to the time when we got here because the time is 2 hours behind.
It is crazy over here in Guatemala. The guards walk with shotguns, the people cannot drive to save their lives and they are very impatient, but they do let us cross the street. The civilians here are all nice here and they are constantly smiling.

Learning spanish is very difficult to learn when u are being taught spanish by someone who doesn't understand wat u are saying. Adeila who is our teacher is a very nice person says that we are "tres chico mallo's" meaning bad boys, she actually loves us and thinks that we are funny. I cannot wait until I step foot in America because I miss seeing people and places that I am used to seeing.

Adios Amigos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
